Was experimenting with false eyelashes, and I look ridiculous!

Cross between a doll and a stripper I’d say… I won’t be going out in public with these on.

What the fuck, you have no idea what irony is. Cute tools though.

The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrmann.

As this is probably one of my favourite books I’ve ever read, I feel it deserves an obligatory post. I can’t deny my excitement, but at the same time trepidation. I really want this to succeed both critically/commercially and as an honest adaptation of the book. By honest, I  don’t exactly mean it as a verbatim retelling, but more of an conscientious interpretation (perhaps?). Anyway, the cinematography looks gorgeous. The actors are expertly cast. I enjoy Baz Luhrmann’s films and directorial style (Australia has grown on me in a BIG way).

Another controversial thing: he 3D aspect of it doesn’t phase me in the slightest. As a person in a family who received a Christmas card from Baz himself, and with regular interactions with people working on the film, I have it upon good authority that the ballroom scene looks PHENOMENAL in 3D (I can provide proof if anyone is curious by the way. They’ll just have to wait until next week).

Anyway, you’ll find me sitting on the edge of my seat on opening day, crossing my fingers furiously.
